Of One Body has partnered with Community Cords to support women in the Philippines while raising funds to support our mission work.  The purpose of Community Cords is to empower impoverished women in the Cuatro Community of Manila by providing them with a source of employment and discipling them to raise God-centered families to impact future generations. Women are paid for each bracelet made which are then made available to organizations to raise funds for mission trips.  Your purchase of a bracelet  through O1B will help supponullrt our Mission Travel Scholarships for urban youth to join us in Haiti this December.  Each bracelet is $5 and $1.50 is added to your order for shipping and handling.  Because we receive bracelets as they become available, we are not able to select colors in advance.  Send us an email and we will do our best to select a bracelet with the colors you prefer.  Your bracelet can be purchased HERE

A combination of love, resources and determination accompanied a team of ten mission workers to Rio de Janeiro to serve in the favelas (slums).  We thought the Pope's visit would bring more people to serve those less fortunate.  It was unclear if this was the case.  We witnessed many who were there to admire the Pope and when he was not in their presence they marched the streets waving their countries flags as a symbol of Christian unity.

Although a bit discouraged because the schools were closed, we took to the streets to search for the lost and the needy.  With prayer we witnessed in the streets, served the children in Complexo do Alemo and created a community mural.  We were escorted to other NGO's that need support and welcome the opportunity to return to support them.

This video will show the highlights, our Facebook page will give you the full story.  Join us for next year's adventure.

"Positive Art Does Wonders for the Heart" is the slogan used by one of the mission participants Fine Artist Eric D. Salisbury.  By providing art supplies and the opportunity to create smiles, vibrant colors and scenes of hope, the goal is to encourage the children to look forward to tomorrow despite the challenges they still face in the orphanages and community today.
