Why a Wellness Retreat for African American Breast Cancer Survivors?

This is a program specific to African American breast cancer survivors to address our total wellness as we reflect, recover or enter our unique breast cancer journey.  Our desire is that women who participate will build friendships to encourage each other to focus on our physical health, strengthen our spirit and learn to trust and lean on each other while we are faced with physical challenges, medical challenges, family challenges and emotional challenges before and after treatment.  Our culture, priorities and our concern for family absolutely requires that we lift each other up and take some time to focus on self and heal.

Wellness Retreat Partners

We are greatful for the support of the YMCA of Greater Seattle and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Puget Sound for being the initial partners in helping to develop this retreat and will welcome new partners as we progress.

Sponsor and Partnership Opportunities

The In Pink Sista Survivors Wellness Retreat is presented by O1B with the support of local community partners.  Our goal is to be sure that every woman who wants to attend this retreat has the resources to do so, that we are able to provide the attendees with additional resources as they participate in the program and that this program will help us provide education and awareness about the disproportionate breast cancer mortality rate among African American women.  If your corporation, community group or nonprofit organization would like to be a sponsor or partner with us to make this a memorable experience please complete the sponsorship/partnership form pdf below.  Every dollar and every in-kind donation is needed and appreciated to help us reduce the breast cancer mortality rate among African American women.

Thanks so much for your consideration and your support!
